The Office of Development seeks private financial support to assist the Institute of Biosciences and Technology. It promotes student fellowships, educational programs, and capital projects, and helps create opportunities for new research initiatives and\ special projects.
Why is private funding so essential to the welfare of IBT? IBT is a component of The Texas A&M Health Science Center. It receives a portion of its operating budget from tuition, state government and the A&M Health Science Center. Private contributions and agency grants make up the balance of the institute's budget. Thus, gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations are very important to IBT's advancement.
Office of Development Services The Office of Development interacts with the philanthropic community to promote and communicate the programs and needs of the institute. The office coordinates donor solicitations by IBT administrators, faculty and volunteers. It also provides technical assistance for gifts through financial and estate planning programs.
